Born in Yilan, Taiwan. Graduated from the Western Painting Group of the Fine Arts Department of the National Art College. From 1982 to 1983, he entered the atelier of Brown at the Ecole National Supérieure des Arts in Paris. In 1986, he won the second place in the David Weill Foundation Drawing Award of the French Academy of Fine Arts. In 1989, he held a solo exhibition at AIA-ESEC in Paris. Since arriving in France in 1981, Kevin Yu has been a promising young artist in the art world. Kevin Yu's works are more complex and varied in shape. They are often juxtaposed or stacked with irregular geometric shapes, using plain colors as narrative language to create a meditative field.
