Dennis Hwang
黃志超
Born in 1941 in Gulangyu, xiamen. His family was originally from Changsha, Hunan, but full of Taiwanese Mandarin. He is a very modern person. He likes to eat anacks and drink cola. Due to he likes to travel around the world and between the straits, thus, his nicknames are being called'" The gust man" and " Cola Lay". In 1950, he moved to Taiwan. In 1971, he was invited to the USA because of the invitation of the US State Department for an art tour exchange exhibition. In 1972, he studied at the Pratt School College of Art, USA. Currently he lives in Taipei as a professional artist.
The unique use if color has made Dennis Huang's worls highly recognizable, with pure and magnificent colors but still clam and introverted national temperament. The lines flowing in the picture are mad and not sinful, but still with the ancient ink styles and the literati of feelings to the mountains and the earth. I truly appreciate the emotion of Dennis Huang's artistic characters conveyed in his paintings. Over the years, the motifs of his artworks, whether it is based on horses, women, or cndscapes, have always been fascinating for its endless creativity. In particular, the series of works in recent years featuring cross-strait scenery and landscapes are vivid and majestic, full of deep meanings for the roots of the oriental intentions.
The use of calligraphic lines is the creative ideology of Dennis Huang's excellence, and the quintessence of traditional culture is more presented. The beautiful color of glazed porcelain is the characteristic of the fascinating flowing.
